Citizens

There are a total of 171.8 thousand people living in Bukit Chandan, with women making up 50.3% of the population and men making up 49.7%. Citizens make up 97.5% of this population, while the remaining 2.5% are considered to be non-citizens. This is in reference to the intermediate level of monthly gross household income in 2019, which is RM3,875, as opposed to the average level, which is RM5,156.

Economy

Agriculture industries such as oil palm plantations and rubber plantations form the backbone of Bukit Chandan's primary source of income and employment. In addition to this, the tourism industry is an important contributor to the economy of Kuala Kangsar, particularly through the production of handicrafts such as pottery and "tekat benang emas."
